A huge welcome to exciting author Randi Alexander

My special guest today is fellow author Randi Alexander. And Desiree is telling all about her. *wink*

New Release and Book Giveaway!
I want to thank Desiree for having me here today. I'm a huge fan, and I'm excited to have the chance to tell my story here at Desiree Holt Tells all. I'm Randi Alexander and I write cowboy erotic romance. My first book, Chase and Seduction was released May 27 from The Wild Rose Press' Cowboy Kink line.
I started writing it in January 2010, and it was to be the first book in a series called Star Struck. The idea was to show what would happen when a regular, average person bumps into a famous star, and the two of them give in to their attraction. Chase and Seduction is the story of a country superstar, Chase, and a reclusive writer, Reno.
The next manuscripts would have been plotted around a hockey player and a publicist, a famous writer and a nanny, and an actress and a plumber. I know the old joke, where the plumber would probably have been the wealthier of the two, but it was the actress' stardom, not her bank account, that was awesome.
I finished Chase and Reno's story and queried an e-publisher (not The Wild Rose Press) and they weren't excited about the idea. Meaning, 'rejection.' But I loved the story, and really wanted to share it with erotic readers.
That spring, I attended the Silken Sands Writers' Conference in Pensacola, Florida. I attended a workshop about cowboys given my Sayde Grace, whose first Cowboy Kink novel, Riding Double had just released from The Wild Rose Press. Her workshop was fun and informative, and I learned a great deal from her.
When I returned home, I downloaded her book and read it. That's when I knew Chase shouldn't be just a country-western singer, he should be a cowboy at heart. I check out the submission requirements for the Cowboy Kink line, and rewrote Chase and Seduction giving my hero a true cowboy life when he wasn't on stage.
From there, I took online classes about Texas, cowboys, and writing hot, kinky erotic romance, did a final rewrite, and submitted to The Wild Rose Press. And the rest - is history.
Looking to the future, my cowgirl novella, One Taste of You, is a finalist in the Passionate Ink Stroke of Midnight contest, and the winner will be announced in late June. And I have another Cowboy Kink story outlined, and hope to start writing it soon.
I blog with thirteen other fabulous authors - including Desiree -at Wild and Wicked Cowboys, and I'm excited every day to read what my blog sisters are up to. I've learned so much from them, and they'd think I'm a geek if they knew, but I actually take notes from their blogs. Learning about cowboys has been a pleasure, and I can't wait to immerse myself in their world once again as I write my next novel.

Country music superstar/actor Chase Tanner has yet to be denied anything–and he’s never wanted anything or anyone more than gorgeous screenplay writer Reno Linden. So when the film they are working on is finally finished, Chase decides to turn up the volume on seducing Reno.
Reno Linden lived a quiet, rural life until she was thrust into the Hollywood scene when her book was adapted to film. Chase Tanner is larger than life, sinfully sexy and hell-bent on getting her into bed. Skittish after a failed wedding engagement, Reno risks the plunge into Chase’s arms, and is surprised that her good girl self can keep up with bad boy Chase.
Though Chase returns to his cowboy roots often, and Reno cherishes the time spent with him on his ranch, the two find their careers pulling them in different directions. Will their attraction survive the glitz and stress of fame?
EXCERPT: Over 18 only, please!
Chase laughed, then sobered. His fingers slid under her hair, caressing her neck softly as he said, “You are a beautiful woman.”
She’d often been called beautiful-but-healthy, which referred to those extra forty pounds that made the difference between being a model, and being just plain Reno Linden.
He ran his fingers up the back of her head. “Your hair is like satin. And I’ve never seen eyes that color. Amber.”
Trying to keep from grinning, she teased, “Reno.”
He laughed. “No, your eyes are amber.” Seconds slipped by before he tipped his head and brushed his lips over hers.
She closed her eyes and parted her lips to breathe in his essence.
With a groan, his arm came around her waist, and he pulled her closer. His tongue danced with hers, the unexpectedly sweet taste of tequila and tobacco making her hungry for more of him.
Chase ended the kiss then pressed his lips to her temple and began swaying them in a slow dance. Quietly, he sang, “You’re the one I’ve been looking for, You’re the light behind that hidden door, Can’t figure out where you’ve been all my life, but I don’t wanna be without you anymore.”
Something melted inside her as he sang the song he dedicated to her from the stage. This was where she belonged, in his arms, where she fit perfectly, a lost puzzle piece at last finding its place.
He said, “Look at me, Reno.”
To celebrate the release of Chase and Seduction, I'm giving away, to one lucky *commenter, an e-copy of my novella Her Cowboy Stud. Just leave a comment today and we'll choose a winner tomorrow. *Commenter must be 18 years of age or older to win.
